Arraignment Date Set for Sccused Tulsa Shooters

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — An arraignment is scheduled Oct. 22 for two men accused of gunning down three black people and wounding two more in April.

The arraignment date follows a ruling last week by a special judge who found there was sufficient evidence for Jake England and Alvin Watts to stand trial on first-degree murder counts.

Although arraignment initially was scheduled for Monday, the matter was postponed until the October date.

The two suspects in Tulsa’s fatal Good Friday Shooting Spree are ordered to trial. Tulsa County Special Judge David Youll issued the ruling mid-afternoon. A preliminary hearing, which had started last month, for Jacob England and Alvin Watts, resumed this afternoon.

England and Watts stand accused of killing three people and shooting two more while on rampage in North Tulsa in the early morning hours of Good Friday. All of the victims were Black while the suspects are not.

Testimony: Shooting Suspect Admitted to Slayings

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — An inmate has testified that one of two Tulsa men charged in the killings of three black people admitted to his role in the shootings.

Tulsa jail inmate Timothy Hoey testified Wednesday during a preliminary hearing for 19-year-old Jake England and 33-year-old Alvin Watts. The two are charged with killing three people and wounding two others in Tulsa.

Hoey said he's known England his whole life and that England told him the day after the April shooting spree that he and Watts had shot some black people.
