Vintage Aircraft Above Tulsa
By Paul Crockett
What was old is new again.
The Tulsa Chapter of the Commemorative Air Force has a P-19 back in flying condition. It was the primary trainer for pilots in World War II.
“From 1940 until 1945, America produced about 7,500 of these air planes”, says the CAF’s James Daggs. He says the plane is a little safer than it used to be. He says the avionics have been updated. “It has a lot more modern safety features with it”, Dagg said.
The plane is flying in Tulsa this weekend.
