Tulsa Police Officer Charged with Robbery

KWGS News

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Prosecutors have charged a Tulsa police officer with second-degree robbery for allegedly stealing money from five motorists.

Five counts were filed Friday in Tulsa County District Court against Marvin Blades Jr., who was booked and released on $25,000 bond.

Investigators from the Tulsa Police Department and the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs conducted an undercover operation after allegations arose that Blades was targeting Hispanic drivers during traffic stops and stealing money.

Police allege Blades stopped an undercover narcotics agent August 24th and took $600 in cash before allowing the driver to leave.

A working telephone number couldn't be found Friday afternoon to request comment from Blades.

Tulsa Police Chief Chuck Jordan has said there's no indication any other officers were involved.
