Names Released in Fatal Shooting by Tulsa Officers

KWGS News

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The names of a Tulsa police officer and Tulsa County deputy involved in a shooting that killed a woman during the weekend have been released.

Authorities said Monday that 18-year-old Karina Sandoval-Jimenez was killed in the shooting involving police Cpl. Daniel Miller and sheriff's Sgt. Rick Treadwell.

Police have said the shooting came after officers responded to reports of a robbery just after 1 a.m. Saturday and that the deputy and the police officer opened fire on a vehicle at the scene as it drove toward them.

Authorities say Sandoval-Jimenez was dead at the scene and a man in the car was wounded. The man was treated at a hospital, then arrested for robbery with a firearm.

It was not released which officer's shot struck the woman.
